Edmonds man who crashed into minivan pleads guilty to vehicular homicide

The Edmonds man who crashed into the back of a minivan stopped at a red light at the 220th Street and 76th Avenue West intersection in November 2009 pleaded guilty Friday to vehicular homicide, the Herald reported.

Ben Garnet Holt, 69, hit the minivan at nearly 70 mph, fatally injuring John Spudich, also of Edmonds. Holt had a long history of epileptic seizures. When he appeared in court last September, he had originally pleaded not guilty to the charge but prosecutors noted that he had been in multiple vehicle crashes related to his condition.
