Police looking for second motorcycle in Sunday night’s Highway 99 fatality

A 34-year-old Sultan man was killed Sunday night when his motorcycle collided at a high rate of speed with a pickup truck that was entering the road from a business on Highway 99 in Lynnwood, police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said. All southbound lanes of Highway 99 near the 20600 block were closed from about 7 to 11:30 p.m. while police investigated the fatality collision.

A 51-year-old Ridgefield Wash. man in the Toyota Tundra pickup truck wasn’t injured when the motorcycle hit the driver’s side of the truck.

While speed was a factor in this collision, it isn’t known at this time whether or not alcohol and/or drugs contributed to this crash, and police continue to investigate, Sessions said.

Witnesses to the collision indicated there may have been another motorcycle in the area near the time of the collision, she added. Anyone with information regarding this second motorcycle should call Officer Stephen Showalter at 425-670-5600.
