The start of something beautiful: City of Edmonds staff, volunteers begin planting hanging baskets

Wayne Purser of 365 Things to Do in Edmonds was on hand Tuesday when City of Edmonds staff and volunteers from the Edmonds Floretum Garden Club began putting together 151 hanging baskets, which will be placed around the city during the first week of June.

The flowers that adorn the hanging baskets and corner parks are grown from seed in City greenhouses. The City Flower Program was started in the mid-1970s as part of the Street Beautification Program. More information can be found here.
