Cell phone towers, continued levy discussion on council agenda Tuesday

Two agenda items of particular note for the Edmonds City Council Tuesday night:

– A review and discussion of Planning Board recommendations regarding changes to the city code governing the installation of cell phone towers and other wireless communications facilities. This issue was prompted by complaints from Westgate neighborhood residents last summer regarding a plan from Clearwire to install a utility pole and antennas in their neighborhood.

– Continued deliberation regarding whether the council should place a levy before Edmonds voters — and if so, for how much and for what purpose — on either the August or November 2011 election ballot.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Council Chambers, Public Safety Complex, 250 5th Ave. N. The complete agenda is here.

  1. The Actual financial results for 2010 have now been released and are included in the agenda materials. The Ending Working Capital Balance is within 2% of prior estimates, so as expected, Actual results have caused no material change in the state of the city’s finances.
