Edmonds Heights K-12 (formerly Edmonds Homeschool Resource Center) continues its presentation of the Washington state premiere and first-ever high school production of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice, A Musical,” this Friday through Sunday.
In this production, Jane Austen revisits her unpublished first novel “First Impressions” and begins to transform it into what will become her great romantic novel: “Pride and Prejudice.” This remarkable musical play reveals Austen’s passionate efforts to produce her masterpiece; in doing so, she interacts with her characters and they with her, giving broader dimension to the compelling love story of Elizabeth and Darcy.
Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice,” with book and music by Lindsay Warren Baker and Amanda Jacobs, is directed by Shileah Corey and features a cast of 35 talented actors, ages 14-18. Performances are this Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m., with a matinee performance Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door. All performances are at Edmonds Heights K-12, 23200 100th Ave. W., Edmonds. Call 425-431-7840 for information.
