Two Edmonds Heights K-12 students came home with participation medals from the 2011 Robofest World Championship Competition held last weekend on the campus of Lawrence Technological University near Detroit. They also earned a first-place trophy for their regional video submission.
Dawson Brown and Ikaika Miyata designed, built and programmed their NXT robot to successfully execute the Block the Oil Spill challenge. The video of their robot performance qualified them for the competition. These young engineers-in-training were excited to be invited to join 16 other top senior teams from the U.S., Canada, Singapore, Korea and China to compete at this event.
