Seattle Storm bringing championship trophy to Edmonds Boys & Girls Club

The Seattle Storm is bringing its championship trophy to Edmonds this Friday with a visit to the Edmonds Boys & Girls Club from 10 a.m. to noon.

Edmonds is one of 10 clubs statewide that will receive a visit from the Storm, thanks to votes that kids, parents, and community members cast for their favorite Boys & Girls Club in the state during the month of March 2011,

Participants in the Seattle Storm Trophy Tour will have the opportunity to participate in a “dribble, pass and shoot” skills competition and a mini Jr. Storm clinic that teaches the fundamentals of basketball. Individual winners of the skills contest will be invited to the Storm’s Opening Day Celebration of Champions, where they will compete against winners from other clubs for the opportunity to take home both an Xbox 360 and an Xbox Kinect.

Edmonds parents can pre-register their kids for the “dribble, pass and shoot” skills competition by visiting the official Trophy Tour page at StormBasketball.com. Additional activities during each of the 10 Trophy Tour stops include pictures with the Storm’s 2010 WNBA championship Trophy and more Storm-themed games, prizes and giveaways. Each participant will also receive a ticket to the team’s June 4 Opening Day Celebration of Champions.
