A man in his mid-50s brought to shore after losing consciousness at the Edmonds Underwater Park Saturday died despite attempts by both his adult son and firefighters to revive him, a spokeswoman for Snohomish County Fire District 1 said.
Spokeswoman Lesley Hynes said that firefighters responded around noon to Brackett’s Landing, where a man in his mid-30s was performing CPR on his father. The diver lost consciousness underwater and was brought to shore by his son, who was his dive partner, Hynes said. Firefighters continued CPR on the beach, but were unable to revive the man.
Edmonds Police Sgt. Don Anderson said that no additional details were available as of Saturday afternoon.
