Warrior baseball beats M-P in first-round playoff game

Updated with opponent for Tuesday.

The Edmonds-Woodway High School baseball team defeated Marysville-Pilchuck 8-3 in a first-round District 1 playoff game at Shorecrest High School Monday.

Derek Callahan, a senior left-hander bound for Gonzaga, was the winning pitcher. Arizona recruit Austin Jones was 2-for-3 with a home run and a double and had 3 RBI for E-W.

Troy Rhenford also had a home run for the Warriors.

Edmonds-Woodway faces Mariner in a winner-to-state matchup at 4 p.m. Tuesday, also at Shorecrest High School.
