Warrior baseball team earns state berth with 3-1 win over Mariner

The Warriors celebrate their win, which sends them to state.

Edmonds-Woodway’s Derek Callahan tied the score at 1-1 in the fifth inning on an RBI single and the Warriors went on to win the 4A District 1 semifinal baseball game vs. Mariner at Shorecrest High School Tuesday.

The victory gave E-W a berth to the state 4A baseball tournament, and the 16-6 Warriors next will play Jackson in the district final to determine seeding for state. The game is this Saturday night, 7 p.m. at Everett Memorial Stadium.

Ryan Budnick was the winning pitcher for Edmonds-Woodway.
