In the 4A District 1 championship baseball game Friday night, Edmonds-Woodway led Jackson 5-2 until the top of the sixth, when the Timberwolves scored six runs. A Warrior rally fell just short in the seventh, and Jackson ended up winning 8-7.
Derek Callahan, who went 2-for-4, led E-W with a triple, double and two runs while Austin Jones (3-for-3) also added two runs and had a triple, double and an RBI. The Warriors will open the state tournament at Kent Memorial Stadium Saturday, May 21, at 10 a.m., opponent to be determined this weekend.
