Edmonds boy, 16, jumps off ferry

The Washington State Patrol confirmed that a 16-year-old Edmonds boy jumped off the ferry near Kingston this afternoon but was rescued and not hurt.

Washington State Ferries personnel, using a rescue boat, pulled the boy from the water after he jumped. The ferry was pulling into the Kingston dock when the incident occurred, the State Patrol said.

It’s unknown why the boy jumped but more details are expected next week.
