The Edmonds-based Hazel Miller Foundation has awarded the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce a $25,000 grant to support Edmonds’ Fourth of July fireworks celebration, parade and other activities, the Chamber announced Tuesday.
Calling the award “outstanding,” Chamber President Ron Clyborne said his organization “is very grateful to be awarded this grant and we applaud the Hazel Miller Foundation’s commitment to support the continuance of this special community celebration. A win-win for all!”
“An Edmonds Kind of 4th” has been an Edmonds tradition for more than 100 years, the Chamber noted in its announcement. The 2011 grant will provide financial support for the day-long celebration that includes a 5K fun run, Children’s Parade, Main Parade and evening fireworks.
