Students at Edmonds' Madrona School collected 880 pairs of socks to send to Japanese shelters for the survivors of Japan’s recent earthquake and tsunami. These socks were accompanied by a note (translated into Japanese) by the donor and origami cranes, flowers, and frogs to give to the Japanese children. (Photo courtesy of Edmonds School District)
