Annual Edmonds School District music camp strikes a chord

Edmonds School District summer program musicians perform in this year's Fourth of July parade.

For over 20 years, the Edmonds School District has been offering a summer music school for students, with 135 students enrolled this summer.

“It is a fabulous opportunity for students to hone their skills and perform in venues that they haven’t in the past, such as the Fourth of July Parade in Edmonds,” said Scott Barnes, director of visual and performing arts. “Plus, 20 student counselors work with 18 staff so the counselors are gaining instructional skills as well.”

On Tuesday, July 19, students will perform an evening concert beginning at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall of Meadowdale High School. The community is invited to attend this free performance.

  1. Hi, I was wondering how much summer music camp is this summer. My daughter is an Edmonds School district student moving on to 7th grade (College Place) next year.

    Thank you,
    Tammy Reynolds
