Chamber reveals ‘Edmonds Kind of Fourth’ Parade award winners

Many of us enjoyed the Edmonds Kind of Fourth parade sponsored July 4 by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, In case you were wondering, here are the seven winners of parade awards that are given annually, according to an announcement sent by the Chamber Friday. This year’s winners are:

– Most Patriotic, Lynnwood Elks Lodge #2171 & Lynnwood Emblem #366

– Spirit of ’76, Edmonds School District Summer Music School Marching Band

– Most Original,  Community Christian Fellowship Children’s Ministry

– Funniest, The Pirates of Treasure Island

– Mayor’s Trophy, the United States Coast Guard

– Best Decorated, Garrison Titan of the 501st Legion (Star Wars characters)

– Chamber of Commerce Award went to Chermak Construction

This year the Chamber renamed the Community Service Award to The Dick Anway Memorial Award in memory of Police Reservist Dick Anway, who served the Chamber and the Edmonds community for 37 years. The award was given posthumously to Dick and presented to his family, who rode in the parade in his honor.
