College Place Middle, Madrona K-8 students named Peace essay contest winners

The Snohomish County Peace Action recently announced the winners of the 16th annual Linda Jewell Memorial Essay Contest, in which students wrote essays on multiple topics including the definition of “peace,” the roles of individuals and government, and positive solutions to community issues. Edmonds School District winners included the following:
First Place:
Megan Kelly (College Place Middle), Mikayla Monroe (College Place Middle), Abigail Shifron (Madrona), Nathan Roberts (Madrona)
Second Place:
Ifeyinwa Acholonu (College Place Middle), Pavi Chance (Madrona), Alexis Martin-Entler (Madrona), Grace Jeffress (Madrona), Annabelle King (Madrona), Jeannie Schroeder (College Place Middle), John Starkweather (Madrona), Michael Wolf (Madrona)
