Edmonds City Councilmember DJ Wilson entered the annual Yost Park Pool Belly Flop/Cannon Ball contest Friday night at the request of his 4-year-old son, Karsten, who also planned to participate.

When Karsten changed his mind at the last minute, Wilson went ahead and took the plunge and – – to his surprise — won the adult division.

Editor’s note: We tried our best to come up with a clever headline that captured Councilmember Wilson’s victory, but we’d like to open it up to our readers for suggestions. Add your ideas in the comments below, and if someone does a better job, we’ll update the story with the new headline.
