Stolen mail was a common theme from the latest Edmonds police reports, so keep an eye on your mailboxes — or better yet, purchase a box that locks.
June 16, 23100 block of Edmonds Way: Male puts girlfriend in a “choke hold” and damages a vehicle. Male arrested for assault and malicious mischief.
June 17
21900 block of Highway 99: Adult male and female arrested for theft. Female gets male to shoplift cosmetics for her valued at $38.47.
9100 block of 242nd Street Southwest: Someone smashed a windshield with a watermelon.
June 19
16700 block of 74th Place West: At 7:39 p.m., a male was seen tampering with mailboxes and fled the scene once he determined he was being watched. There is a history of damage to mailboxes in this area.
16700 block of 74th Place West: At 10:05 pm, investigation of suspicious circumstances around mailboxes results in malicious mischief report.
June 20
500 block of Main Street: Subject orders an alcoholic beverage at an establishment and then walks out without paying for it. The subject was then contacted at another establishment, where he was in the process of doing the same thing. The subject was extremely intoxicated, cited and then driven home.
22400 block of Highway 99: Report of an ex-employee taking $6,137.40 in cash and checks before quitting job. Suspect is known to the victim business owner.
June 21, 22100 block of Highway 99: Adult male overdoses on heroin in motel room. Visitor to room initiated telephone CPR with dispatch. Subject revived and transported by paramedics to the Swedish Emergency Room.

17100 block of 68th Avenue West: Report of mail being stolen out of mailbox. No suspect information.
23200 block of Highway 99: Traffic stop for speeding leads to a DUI arrest.
June 23
22900 block of 106th Avenue West: Report of injury from airsoft pellet gun.
1200 block of Olympic Avenue: Dispute between parent and school leads to harassment investigation and a trespass warning.
500 block of Hemlock Way: Quarters stolen from spare storage bedroom. Unknown entry.
June 24
7400 block of Soundview Drive: Mailbox damaged by fireworks. No suspects.
7600 block of 212th Street Southwest: Theft of fire extinguishers from high school leads to malicious mischief.
June 25
22000 block of Highway 99: Subject steals items from auto parts store and leaves store. The subject was confronted by an employee and hands over the items, then leaves on foot. Suspect not identified.
June 26
8100 block of 220 Street Southwest: Stolen mail found in another mailbox. Stolen mail returned to victim residence.
June 27
16600 block of 76th Avenue West: Suspect attempts to extort money by threatening to post photographs and personal information online.
