Join Sound Transit Friday for the dedication of the newly-completed Edmonds Station, starting at 10:30 a.m. (program at 11 a.m.) at 210 Railroad Ave. Station improvements include a new train platform, larger passenger loading area and new transit shelters. Other amenities include upgraded lighting, newly paved parking lots, new landscaping and secure bike lockers. RSVPs are requested to events@soundtransit.org. Limited event parking is available and carpooling is encouraged.
Note that the temporary commuter parking area on Admiral Way will permanently close on Friday at 8 p.m. Any vehicles in the lot after the closure date are subject to fines or towing by the Port of Edmonds. The new parking lot north of the Amtrak Depot opens on Monday, July 11. The new bus transit center operated by Community Transit is expected to open later this summer.
There is a huge permanent generator next to the bus transit center. Does anybody know why?
I’ll send a note to Sound Transit about it.
