Northwest favorites Reilly & Maloney will perform a free concert at Edmonds City Park, 3rd and Pine, Sunday at 3 p.m.. Bring the family, lawn chairs or a blanket for this latest performance presented by the Edmonds Arts Commission.
From the mid-1970s through the late 1980s, the voices-and-guitars duo of Ginny Reilly and David Maloney made delightful harmonies together. Old fans will be happy to hear that they’ve lost none of their vocal magic: Reilly’s ethereal soprano voice dances lightly around Maloney’s grittier baritone. The contrast in their voices and their unique sense of harmony makes for some wonderful duets. They play a mix of original work plus music by their long-time friend, the late singer/songwriter Tom Dundee, and covers by Tom Paxton, John Prine, Bruce Springsteen, and Rogers & Hart.
This year’s Summer Concerts in the Park series is generously sponsored by Acura of Lynnwood and Lynnwood Honda. Concerts are presented by the Edmonds Arts Commission on behalf of the Edmonds City Council and are accessible to persons with disabilities.
In the event of rain, the concert will be cancelled at 2:30. The next Concert in the Park is Aug. 7 and features the The 85th Street Big Band.
Old timers may also remember when they played at Jerilyn Brusseau’s Bakery (now the Red Twig). They are indeed an amazing duo.
