Lynnwood bank robbery suspect arrested in Edmonds Friday


Lynnwood police detectives assisted by Edmonds police on Friday arrested the suspect believed to be responsible for a June 25 robbery at the US Bank at 19420 Highway 99.

An 18-year-old Lynnwood man was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail on first-degree robbery while the man’s father, a 41-year-old Lynnwood man, was also arrested and booked on warrants he had out on his arrest.

On Friday afternoon, Edmonds police located a vehicle at an Edmonds motel that fit the description of the vehicle involved in the June 25 bank robbery. They notified Lynnwood detectives, who joined them and arrested the two with no incident in the 21600 block of Highway 99. Detectives worked throughout the night serving search warrants and gathering evidence.

While this bank robbery doesn’t immediately appear to be connected to any other recent robberies in the area, police continue to investigate and communicate with other law enforcement agencies.

The suspect entered the bank about 12:15 p.m. on June 25 implying he had a weapon and demanding money. He fled the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The robber was described as a white male with short blonde hair, in his early 20s. He was described as about 6-feet tall with a thin build.
