Registration opens Aug. 1 for the 26th annual Write on the Sound Writers’ Conference, which will be Sept. 30-Oct. 2 at the Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St. The conference features two full days of sessions on the craft of writing, a half day pre-conference, a themed writing contest (“Remnants”), and one-on-one manuscript critiques.
Oregon author John Daniel is the keynote speaker. Daniel has written nine books of poetry, essays and memoir and his most recent book, “The Far Corner: Northwest Views on Land, Life and Literature,’ won the 2011 Oregon Book Award for creative nonfiction.
The keynote is open to the public and takes place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, at the Edmonds Theater, 415 Main St. Tickets are $15 adult/$10 student and may be purchased in advance at 425-771-0228 or by emailing wots@ci.edmonds.wa.us.
