Council candidate Bob Wilcox endorsed by laborers, carpenters unions

Edmonds City Council candidate Bob Wilcox announced this week that he has been endorsed by Laborers Union Local #292, Carpenters Union Local #70 and the Associated General Contractors.  Earlier endorsements for Wilcox include former Snohomish County Councilmember Gary Nelson, former Edmonds Mayor Gary Haakenson, Woodway Mayor Carla Nichols, Edmonds City Councilmembers DJ Wilson and Strom Peterson, former Washington State Labor Council president Rick Bender and Port of Edmonds Commissioner Fred Gouge.

One of Wilcox’s primary opponents for Council position 4, incumbent Diane Buckshnis, has listed among her endorsements State Sen. Maralyn Chase, State Rep. Cindy Ryu, Snohomish County Sheriff John Lovick, Edmonds City Councilmembers Adrienne Fraley-Monillas and Michael Plunkett, Edmonds School District Board Member Susan Paine and Edmonds Port Commissioner Bruce Faires plus the 21st and 32nd District Democrats and the National Women’s Political Caucus of Washington.

The third candidate for position 4, Tad Helke, has no endorsements listed on his website.
