King County sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday fatally shot a 22-year-old man in Shoreline, just south of Edmonds, our online news partner The Seattle Times reports.
The shooting occurred around 1 p.m. in the 700 block of North 200th Street, just south of Snohomish County, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.
A woman called 911 around 1 p.m. to report her boyfriend was threatening suicide with a knife, according to the Sheriff’s Office. According to the Times, when deputies responded, the girlfriend ran outside with her hands bleeding because she had been cut trying to wrestle the knife away, according to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. John Urquhart. When the woman’s boyfriend came outside with a chef’s knife in one hand and a shotgun in the other, both deputies opened fire.
