Edmonds house fire Wednesday night contained to second floor bedroom

Mckenzie Daniels shared this photo of smoke coming from a house fire in Edmonds Wednesday night.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 firefighters were dispatched to a fire in an Edmonds home in the 1200 block of 8th Avenue South Wednesday night, spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said. A family of four and a guest safely exited the house and there were no injuries.

According to Hynes, firefighters could see a large column of smoke as they approached, and flames were coming out a second-floor window when firefighters arrived. “They quickly extinguished the fire and damage was contained to a second-floor bedroom and adjacent area,” she said.

An investigator is working on identifying the cause. We’ll provide more details as they become available.
