The Edmonds-based Stevenson Roofing presents Miss Peters and May unlimited hydroplane begins practice and qualifying today, Friday, for the Albert Lee Cup hydroplane race this weekend, the final event of Seattle’s Seafair festival.

Minor modifications were performed on the boat earlier this week as the team continues to fine tune its performance.

Owner/driver JW Meyers is positive about the team’s prospects for this week’s race. The boat was on display on Wednesday Microsoft’s Redmond Campus and Thursday went down to the pit area to set up for Friday’s action.

Co-owners Scott and Shannon Raney were busy putting together all facets of the boat and team before leaving their Edmonds-based shop.

Testing will be held Friday morning, followed by fast lap qualifying on Friday afternoon, The race starts with one heat late Saturday afternoon followed by a full day of racing on Sunday.

Sunday’s racing can be seen live on KIRO-TV and of course, up-to-the minute reports can be found here on My Edmonds News.
