Getting a jump on summer in Edmonds

Hope gets some air at the Frances Anderson Center Friday.

Dozens of youngsters got their heart rates pumping at the Frances Anderson Center this week, thanks to a new Edmonds Parks & Recreation-sponsored Jump It Up Camp for ages 6-11.

Led by Jenni McCloughan and Erinn Shull, who also teach physical education at Maplewood K-8 during the school year, the kids learned to jump rope and master the use of other fun equipment such as pogo sticks and pogo balls.

Family and friends were invited to watch the youngsters demonstrate their newly learned skills during a performance on the last day of camp Friday.
