According to the high school football coaches’ polls from our online news partner, The Seattle Times, Meadowdale High School (7-4 last year) is expected to finish first in Wesco 3A while Edmonds-Woodway (6-4) is picked to be first in Wesco 4A.

Meadowdale takes on Shorecrest in the Mavericks’ Wesco 3A season opener away at Shoreline Stadium Friday, with kickoff at 7 p.m., while Edmonds-Woodway hosts Monroe at 5 p.m. at Edmonds Stadium. (If you can’t make it to the game, remember that My Edmonds News will present live audio broadcasts of all Warrior games — home and away — this season, including the Sept. 16 match-up against cross-town rival Meadowdale.)

We’ll have more details on matchups for both teams on Friday.
