Car Show Sunday: Send us photos of your favorite cars and we’ll post them!

The Edmonds Classic Car Show, presented by Mercedes-Benz of Lynnwood and brought to you by the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce, returns to the streets of downtown Edmonds Sunday, and we’d like to see which cars are your favorites. Take a photo using any camera (phone cameras are fine) and email them to My Edmonds News. We’ll keep a running tally and publish your favorites Sunday night.

Look for the My Edmonds News table (we’ll be located along 4th Avenue) and say hello!

Between 300-400 beautiful classic vehicles will be in the show, which starts at 10 a.m. and runs from the fountain at 5th Avenue and Main Street.

There will be a special 9-11 remembrance ceremony at noon at the fountain featuring a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem.

In conjunction with the show, several other free events are happening: a free pancake breakfast at North Sound Community Church (4th Ave North and Bell Street) from 9 a.m. -1 p.m.; the Edmonds Theatre (Main Street right by the fountain) will be screening free cartoons from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and the Edmonds Historical Museum (5th Avenue North by the fountain) will be featuring their exhibit “Cruisin’ the Washington Fossil Freeway” and their ever-popular Train Room.

The Now & Then display of cars from past and present returns to Dayton Place (the corner of 4th Ave South and Dayton Street) and this year there will even be some historic record-breaking Top Fuel Dragsters with award-winning drivers. Demonstrations of these powerful and loud engines is scheduled for 1 and 3 p.m.  and you don’t want to miss it.

Throughout the day an information booth at the fountain will be staffed to answer questions and provide directions to those who need them as well as lost and found services. Next to the booth, custom-designed car show apparel will be for sale.

While the public enjoys the cars on display, the owners will be awaiting the decision of the judges to see who will win the coveted “Best of Show” jacket as well as numerous other awards at the 4:30 p.m. awards ceremony.

Day-of-show registration is $25.  Registration forms are available here.
