Some new faces will be appearing at the Edmonds City Council meeting Tuesday night. First, Councilmembers will have an opportunity to meet Mayor Mike Cooper’s recommended candidate to become Edmonds’ new finance director. Then, the Council’s new student representative, Alex Springer from Edmonds-Woodway High School, will officially be introduced.
But prior to those regular agenda items, the council is scheduled to hold an executive session, closed to the public, from 6-7 p.m. to discuss possible actions related to a question raised during the Aug. 23 council meeting: Why former Edmonds Mayor Gary Haakenson approved $725,000 in change orders for the now-completed Haines Wharf project in north Edmonds without running the contracts by the Council first.
But the bulk of the regular council meeting — two hours — will be devoted to a workshop on the 2012 budget.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m.in the Council Chambers, Public Safety Complex, at 250 5th Ave. N. You can see the entire council agenda here.
