Edmonds Sister City Commission seeking volunteers

The Edmonds Sister City Commission is seeking volunteers to fill two openings on the commission. The commission consists of 12
non-paid volunteers serving three-year terms.

Sister City Commissioners attend one 7 p.m. meeting on the fourth Monday of each month and participate in committee work, hold at least one executive position within the commission during their three-year term, and participate in activities involving visitors from Edmonds’ Sister City, Hekinan, Japan, throughout the year. An interest in Japan and the Sister City philosophy and willingness to serve the citizens of Edmonds is desirable.

Applicants participate in an interview process and are selected, in part, based upon their skills as they apply to the commission’s mission, functions, and current and ongoing projects. Visit https://www.ci.edmonds.wa.us/siscity.stm for more information.

  1. As the chair of the Sister City Commission, I would invite those of you who may be interested to submit an application. The commission provides a wonderful opportunity to interact with students from Japan and increase cultural awareness in the city of Edmonds and surrounding areas through exchanges!

    Thanks,

    Eric Radcliffe
Chair – Edmonds Sister City Commission
