Snohomish County Fire District No. 1 firefighters were called to the Edmonds-Woodway High School parking lot Monday morning following reports of a grass fire in a landscaped island.
Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said the fire, reported at 7:19 a.m., involved a 10-foot-by-10-foot grassy area with 1-foot-tall flames when firefighters arrived. “They quickly extinguished the fire using tank water from the engine,” said Hynes, who added that the fire did not pose a threat to any vehicles or buildings.
