Seattle Storm offering free tickets to ‘local heroes’ for 9/11 game

To pay tribute to those who serve and protect our country, the 2010 WNBA National Champion Seattle Storm is providing free tickets to members of the armed forces, police and firefighters for the Sunday, Sept. 11, game vs. the Chicago Sky at Key Arena.

Through the generosity of Storm partners Bing, Virginia Mason, Safeco Insurance and Microsoft, the Storm will provide complimentary tickets for your organization to distribute to members and their families to the 6 p.m. game on Sept. 11. These tickets will be in the upper bowl of the arena, and will be general admission seating by section. Once the Storm receives your ticket request, they will place your group in a particular section so you may all sit together.

The Storm does suggest members in attendance wear their uniforms if appropriate. The team will honor select service members in a pregame ceremony, and also have uniformed service members participate in on-court contests and games throughout the night.

Contact Navreet Gill (ngill@stormbasketball.com/206-272-2516) with the requested number of group tickets, and details on where and to whom to deliver them. Tickets will be delivered no later than the end of the day Thursday, Sept. 8.
