Bronze medal for American Brewing Co.’s Brave American brew

American Brewing owner Neil Fallon and master brewer Skip Madsen celebrate their winning entry.

Congratulations to Edmonds-based American Brewing, which last week earned a bronze medal at the Great American Beer Festival competition for its Brave American Brown Ale.

The beer was created this summer by American Brewing master brewer Skip Madsen in partnership with Warren Peterson, chef for the new Tom Douglas restaurant The Brave Horse Tavern, to complement their menu.

The Brave American won the bronze in the American Brown Ale category of the festival, held Sept. 29-Oct. 1 in Boulder, Colo.  The festival is the largest commercial beer competition in the world, with 3,930 beers vying for medals this year (an increase of 11 percent over last year).

  1. Congratulations for putting Edmonds on the map as one of America’s great beer cities. Skip & Neil – you guys are awesome!
