Councilmember DJ Wilson releases updated endorsement list

Citizens to Elect DJ Wilson released an updated list of endorsements Monday that includes the Washington Conservation Voters, the political arm of the state’s environmental community.

“I am thrilled to have earned the support of the most important environmental group in Washington State politics, ” DJ Wilson said. “I’ve been a past chair of their Snohomish County chapter, and a long time supporter of their work.”

Wilson cited “a growing and diverse list of supporters, including some of the primary voices for economic development in Puget Sound,” including the Affordable Housing Council and the Washington State Realtors, plus endorsements from the Washington State SEIU 775NW and the Edmonds Police Officers Association.

“I’m proud to say there is no other city council candidate in Snohomish County that has earned the active support of both the environmental community and the developer community,” Wilson said.  “I think that is a demonstration of how much time I have put in working on pragmatic solutions to problems instead of pulling out sound bites or ideology.”

Wilson also noted he has support from both political parties, including on the Democratic side U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee, Democratic candidate for governor; the Snohomish County Democratic Party; State Senators Paull Shin and Nick Harper; and State Representatives Marko Liias, David Frockt and Luis Moscoso. Republican support has come from State Representative and Snohomish County Executive candidate Mike Hope, as well as Bothell Mayor Mark Lamb, Mountlake Terrace Mayor Jerry Smith, and Everett Councilman Shannon Affholter.
