E-W runs over Jackson for second Wesco South win

Mark Coutee and Desmond Young rushed for a combined 380 yards on 36 carries and scored six touchdowns as Edmonds-Woodway dominated Jackson 63-42 Friday night at Everett Memorial

It was the second straight Wesco South win for the Warriors (2-0 league, 2-3 overall), who started the season with three straight losses, and puts them at the top of the division. Jackson, the defending league champion for three years, is now 1-1 league and 3-2 for the season.

Both teams seemed to score at will for most of the game. E-W racked up 489 yards on 46 plays, running for 396 yards on 40 carries. Jackson had 510 total yards behind quarterback Sam Brown, who was 24 for 32 for 312 yards and five touchdown passes.

The Warriors take on Kamiak next Friday night at Edmonds Stadium. Kickoff is at 8 p.m.
