‘The Brothers’ picked as Edmonds Mural Society’s favorite for 2011

The ballots are in, and Edmonds Mural Society members have voted Andy Eccleshall’s The Brothers as their favorite mural of 2011.

Working with the 2011 theme of Hidden Treasures, Eccleshall was inspired by a dramatic parting of the clouds over the Olympic Mountain range, revealing a ray of sun on the snow-capped peak known as The Brothers. The mural is located on the wall of The Papery at 410 Main St.

While Eccleshall’s mural won the majority of the votes, the other murals were not far behind, with all four competing neck and neck, said Mural Society spokesperson Manya Vee.  “It is clear that each of the five murals has its own large group of champions,” she said.

Images of these five murals, as well as the six other murals painted in previous years, are available to view at www.EdmondsMuralSociety.org.  You can also download a walking map and enjoy your own personal tour.
