Edmonds-area fire calls for Oct. 20-26

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 320 calls the week of Oct. 20-26: 258 emergency medical aid calls, 26 motor vehicle collisions, 16 fires, 4 service calls, 3 natural gas leaks and 13 automatic fire alarms. The following calls were in or near Edmonds:

Oct. 20

COLLISION:  At 6:32 a.m., a two-car head-on collision was reported at the intersection of Filbert Road and North Road east of Lynnwood.  The driver of one vehicle was trapped between his seat and steering wheel. Firefighters used rescue tools to free the driver and transported him to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. Firefighters transported the driver of the second car to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

COLLISION:  At 12:09 p.m., a three-car collision occurred in the 21900 block of Highway 99 in Edmonds.  Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

FALL:  At 1:13 p.m., a man fell eight feet onto concrete inside a building in the 6300 block of Picnic Point Road north of Edmonds. Firefighters transported the man to Harborview Medical Center.

FIRE:  At 1:52 p.m., firefighters responded to a fire in a delivery truck at 86th Place West and Main Street in Edmonds.

Oct. 25

COLLISION:  At 6:40 p.m., a two-car collision was reported in the 22800 block of Cedar Way South in Mountlake Terrace.  Firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds Hospital.

Oct. 26

CHIMNEY FIRE:  At 7:35 p.m., firefighters extinguished a chimney fire at a home in the 24100 block of 52nd Avenue West in Mountlake Terrace.
