Edmonds-area high school sports playoffs: Here’s the scoop for this week

It’s playoff time for our local high school sports teams. Here’s the latest information on those who’ve qualified for state and what’s still in progress:

Edmonds-Woodway

Cross Country: Megan Alfi and Jack Griffing both qualified for the 4A State Cross Country meet, this Saturday, Nov. 5, in Pasco.

Football: The football team will host a Quad-District Playoff vs. South Kitsap Friday, 7:30 p.m., Edmonds Stadium. (My Edmonds News will be broadcasting the game live on Warrior Radio, too!)

Girls Soccer: The girls won the first round of the district tournament with a 2-1 victory over Arlington Saturday. Next up, E-W will play Snohomish at Snohomish, 7 p.m. Tuesday in a winner-to-state game.

Boys’ Tennis: Younghan Kim and Dylan Merrill won the 4A District 1 Championship in doubles last week and will compete in the 4A State Tournament in May.

Volleyball: The volleyball team will play in the 4A District Tournament Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Marysville-Pilchuck High School, with the first match against Lake Stevens. Win or lose at 4 p.m., E-W will play a second match immediately following the first on Tuesday.

Meadowdale

Football: The undefeated Mavs meet Prairie at 7 p.m. Saturday in a Quad-District 3 A playoff game, Edmonds Stadium

Girls Soccer: The soccer team meets Mount Vernon at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Edmonds Stadium.

Volleyball: The 11-1 volleyball team meets Shorewood at 5 p.m. tonight, Monday, at Glacier Peak High School.
