The Lynnwood Rotary Club announced that its annual golf tournament in late September raised nearly $20,000 for charity.
“The tournament was a huge success. Besides being a great day for golf, we had great sponsorship and turn-out,” said Gary Deiner, the tournament chairperson.
“The beauty of our fundraisers is that 100 percent of the proceeds are returned to the community,” said Lynnwood Rotary President Stan McKensie. “In this case, much of the money benefits the Boys and Girls Club of Snohomish County, with the remainder going to the many community projects that we sponsor throughout the year.”
A team led by former State Senator and Snohomish City Councilmember Gary Nelson won the tournament, which was held at Everett Golf and Country Club. His team consisted of Gary Schmitt, Chairman of the Board of The Bank of Washington; Mike Appleby, Vice-President at Chicago Title and Dan Tomasek, broker at Windemere Real Estate.
That was indeed a fun tournament. Thanks to Gary, our wonderful sponsors, and the Lynnwood Rotarian’s for all of the work that they put in to making it the best ever. I look forward to next years.
