Edmonds Election 2011: Results from 5 p.m. Thursday – Mayor, City Council, propositions

As of 5 p.m. Thursday, the biggest shift is that incumbent City Councilmember Diane Buckshnis has pulled ahead slightly of challenger Bob Wilcox. Buckshnis now leads by 30 votes. The next count will be released at 5 p.m. Friday.

  1. Also interesting is that Lora Petso received 52.44% of today’s votes, narrowing the gap by 52 votes. If that trend holds, Petso will pass Darlene Stern in another 4407 ballots. It looks like there are over 6100 ballots to be counted, taking into account that some voters are not voting the City Council races.

    Similarly, Wilson will pass Bloom if the trends from today’s votes hold. Wilson narrowed the gap by 19 votes today.

    Clearly both these races and Buckshnis/Wilcox are way too close to project a winner.

  2. Clearly, every vote counts. Too bad that in these closes races, 26 to 32 people chose to submit a write-in vote. Had they made a choice between the top two candidates, they could have determined the winner. Next time, please don’t waste your precious vote.
