Edmonds resident Larry Fuell, director of the Global Affairs Center at Shoreline Community College, invites Edmonds educators, parents and community members to a forum on “Globalization and Education” at Shoreline CC Room PUB 9208 (9000 bldg.) this Wednesday from 7-8:30 p.m.
The event will include a video viewing of a speech given at the National Governors Association Meeting in July 2011, when New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman talked about global challenges facing America and the role education plays in U.S. competitiveness. Following the viewing will be a discussion with the audience facilitated by Wayne Mackintosh, Director of the Open Education Resource Foundation in New Zealand and Connie Broughton, Washington State Board of Community and Technical Colleges.
The event will be repeated on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2:30-4 p.m. in Room 1102 (1100 Building) on the Shoreline CC campus, featuring Mackintosh and Lee Lambert, President, Shoreline Community College.
