Latino Community Fund Statewide Summit at Edmonds CC Friday, Saturday

The Latino Community Fund Statewide Summit, aimed at providing training and planning to improve the health and well-being of the state’s Latino communities, is set for this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11 and 12, at Edmonds Community College.

The summit is a combination of several interconnected events that include the following:

The Professional-Development Institute – This event is designed for Latino and non-Latino professionals working with Latino and immigrant youth, families and communities.

The Latino Community Fund Awards Brunch – Join over 250 Latino and non-Latino leaders from across the state in recognizing and celebrating “what is working in the Latino community.” The brunch features live music and theater performances.

El Encuentro Comunitario – The Encuentro (encounter) is an opportunity for Latino grass-top and grassroots community leaders and their allies to learn, plan and coordinate together for 2011-12.

The Young Latino Leaders Institute – This institute brings together high school and college youth leaders from across the state.

Elected Officials Reception – Participants registered for any of the other summit events will have an opportunity to attend a wine and cheese meet-and-greet with candidates, public and elected officials.
