On road to state: Meadowdale girls soccer takes on Seattle Prep Friday; football meets Camas Saturday

The Meadowdale High School football and girls soccer teams are in action this weekend in a quest for state titles.

Two Meadowdale High School fall sports teams will be in action this weekend, with state titles on the line.

The Meadowdale High School girls’ soccer team (18-3) begins its quest for a state 3A soccer championship Friday when it meets Seattle Prep in a semifinal match at Sparks Stadium in Puyallup.

The match kicks off at 2 p.m. Friday. For those who can’t attend in person, the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) will carry a live videostream of the event here.

A victory will propel the team into the state 3A soccer championship match at 2 p.m. Saturday vs. the winner of the other semifinal game, Eastside Catholic vs. Liberty. If the Mavs lose, they will play the loser of the other semifinal at 10 a.m. Saturday. Both of those games will also be streamed live, and you can access those streams on the WIAA Network Video Portal.

On Saturday, the Mavericks’ football team, which hasn’t lost a game yet this season, will travel to Camas to meet the Papermakers in a state 3A quarterfinal loser-out game at Doc Harris stadium. Kick-off time is 5 p.m. A win would send the Mavericks to the state 3A semifinals next weekend in the Tacoma Dome.

  1. I may be mistaken, but I believe the correct time for the Meadowdale Girls’ soccer game is 2pm–not 5pm as stated above.
