According to our online news partner The Seattle Times, after Edmonds-Woodway High School’s football team lost 42-7 to top-ranked Bellarmine Prep in the first round of the 4A State playoffs Saturday afternooon, the Warriors didn’t talk about the game.

What coach John Gradwohl did talk about, as his players swapped wet uniforms for dry clothes, is a season that started with a struggle and ended in the state playoffs, The Times reported.

“It showed a lot of fight in the kids,” said Gradwohl, whose team opened the year with three losses but won six of its last eight. “If you would have told me at 0-3 we’d make the state playoffs I would have been very pleased. But, now that we’re here, I thought they (Bellarmine Prep) handled us in every aspect of the game. We’re pretty disappointed.”
