Warrior Radio broadcasts continue for Edmonds-Woodway High School hoops

Starting Thursday night, Warrior Radio will resume with the online broadcast of Edmonds-Woodway High School boys and girls basketball games that can be heard by anyone with an Internet connection. Warrior Radio launched in September 2011, broadcasting the full season of EWHS football games.

Warrior Radio presented by MS Helping Hands this week features two non-league games: Thursday’s girls match-up vs. Auburn-Riverside, with the broadcast beginning at 7:05 p.m., and the Friday boys game vs. Sultan starting at 6:50 p.m.

Both home and away games will be webcast through the following URL: www.myedmondsnews.com/warrior-radio. Not only are the games covered live, but they are also archived for later listening.

Continuing the play-by-play for Warrior Radio is Keith Nealey, an Edmonds-Woodway parent and television broadcast engineer, who has been providing prerecorded podcasts of EWHS football and basketball games for the past two years. Nealey will be assisted by guest color announcers, including EWHS alumni and students.

The pre-game show will start approximately 10 minutes prior to each game and will include an interview with E-W coaches and a look at the upcoming game match-ups. The halftime show presented by the Verdant Health Commission will feature a wrap-up of the first half and interviews with special guests.

MS Helping Hands is the presenting sponsor for Warrior Radio, which is hosted via Stretch Internet and available on My Edmonds News. Stretch Internet provides dedicated streaming for college, high school and professional sports teams nationwide.

As with football season, a percentage of all Warrior Radio advertising profits will benefit the Edmonds-Woodway Athletic Booster Club. Other advertising sponsors include Dick’s Drive-In, which will be giving away Dick’s Dollars to all those in attendance when any Warrior player makes 10 three-point shots during a home game; Revelations Yogurt, sponsor of the Revelations Player of the Game award; Edmonds Community College and Wesco Athletics.

A complete schedule of all games to be broadcast can be found on the Warrior Radio page.
