At home for the first time this season, the Edmonds-Woodway Warriors boys basketball team picked up a 63-42 non-league win over Sultan Friday night.
Lee Anderson led the Warriors with 14 points, while Devin Joseph scored 13 and Travis Bakken added 10.
Head Coach Steve Call said the Warriors appreciated playing in their own gym after two games on the road. “We had a great crowd, lots of energy in the building,” Call said. “It was fun. The guys had a great time.”
The first-year Warriors coach said he was pleased with his team’s defense, which kept the Turks to 42 points. In addition, “we shot pretty well, so we’re making improvements,” Call said.
The 3-0 Warriors now face their first league contest next Tuesday at home against the Jackson Timberwolves. “We’re talking about the first league game as being one of, if not the most, important games for us, so we want to set the tone for league,” Call said.
The game will be broadcast live on Warrior Radio, with tip-off at 7:15 p.m.
