E-W wrestlers beat Jackson to clinch Wesco South championship

By Mike Cooper

The Edmonds-Woodway wrestlers completed their Wesco South dual meet season undefeated by beating Jackson 62-12. The Warriors started the night with three first-round pins by seniors — Zack Perez, Jordan Barnes and Kris Delaney — and never looked back. Also winning by a pin were juniors Marq Brown and Wes Korbein. The Timberwolves only won two matches during the night at 106 and 145.

It was a special night for the Warrior seniors competing in the final dual meet of their high school career. All six seniors in tonight’s lineup were victorious, finishing four years of high school with out losing a dual meet.

This year marks the 3rd consecutive Wesco South championship for the Warriors.

The District tournament will be Feb.3-4.
