Edmonds police issue Level 3 sex offender notice

Mark Johnson

The Edmonds Police Department notified the media Friday that a Level 3 Sex Offender, Mark Johnson, has moved into the 8200 block of 215th Street Southwest in Edmonds. The department has also sent a notification flier via U. S. mail to all residents living within a one-mile radius of the registered offender’s address.

Additional details on Johnson, who has nine convictions for indecent exposure in the State of Colorado, are here.

According to official documents, Johnson pled guilty to felony indecent exposure — all to adult females, with the exception of a 12-year-old girl who was with her mother — and was sentenced on Jan. 21, 2009 to five years supervised probation. This sentence was revoked on July 23, 2009 and he was given a term of 18 months with the Colorado Department of Corrections with credit for 255 days that had already been served.

Johnson would drive to a shopping mall, grocery store or fitness center area would then drive the parking lots in his vehicle and would then masturbate while watching the adult females walk by.

At his current location in Edmonds, Johnson has no vehicle and is driven everywhere by family, the notice said.
